Montreal will be able to fill the stands 100% at games of the new NHL season

The Montreal Canadiens have received permission from Quebec authorities to fully fill the stands at games of the new National Hockey League season.

According to the club's official website, the ruling allows all arenas in the province to be fully filled with spectators beginning Oct. 8.

"We are very pleased with the government's decision to allow us to let all spectators back into the stands. On its own, this is great news for the entire culture, entertainment and sports industry, which have been hit hard by the pandemic. We're happy to see fans back at our arena and we'll try to maintain safety standards in terms of health measures," said Margaret Belanger, spokesperson for the owner of the Bell Centre.

Up to 21,302 spectators will be able to attend Canadiens home games. The first game of the new season at home will be October 17 against the Rangers.

Recall, earlier it was reported that Montreal and Vancouver will be the only NHL clubs with attendance restrictions in the new season.
