According to the Habs' official website, the contract signed is for three years. The average annual salary will be $1.7 million and the total contract amount is $5.1 million.

 

Last season, the 25-year-old forward scored 13 (3+10) points in 47 NHL regular season games with a utility rating of "+2". He played in seven games in the playoffs, scoring a goal and assist for a total of +3.

 

Evans was drafted in the 2014 NHL Entry Draft by Montreal in the seventh round with the No. 207 overall pick.

 

The Canadiens will play their first away game of the new NHL season on October 14 against the Toronto Maple Leafs.
